    Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it was a hard decision to reach, but after much debate, Chris Jordan has come out the victor in the 'Tripod for a Day' contest. This means young CJ will be treated as an honorary deity in a rousing rendition of a hymn of your choice.

    CJ's three favorite hymns were going to be:

    Unto us a Hamster is Born

    O Hamster, Joy of Man's Desiring

    Hamsters Want me for a Sunbeam

    Now, CJ has to sit this phase of the contest out, while you, his 'faithful followers for the day' give your reasons for which hymn we should sing.

    Once the best one is picked, CJ will lead us in the first verse before a full boardanian choir shall join in!

    I vote for "Unto us a Hamster is born."

    I think the miracle of hamster birth in itself is worthy of celebration. The enlightenment it brings in other areas is merely the result of this greater wonder.

    I am curious where pie would enter into this. Any form of religious praise would be invalidated by a lack of pie worship.

    I vote for "O Hamster, Joy of Man's Desiring".

    After all, a hamster is a man's best friend. There are times we all need a hamster in our life.

    i think "Unto us a Hamster is Born" because it would make a very sutible hymn.

    Also i think cj would make it very interesting.................

    'Unto us a Hamster is Born ', where would we be now without it?
  6. My vote goes for 'Unto us a Hamster is Born' as well.

    Its been a while since I sung praise to the wonderful gift of Hamster life.

    I say 'Hamsters Want me for a Sunbeam' cos then he could sing it in a flat monotone and be a reincarnated Curt Cobain... and it made me laugh and it hurts to laugh at the moment...

    I couldn't agree more.

    "O Hamster, Joy of Man's Desiring" for me. Too many bad jokes about hamsters and sellotape for me to ignore that one.

    And of course, hamster pie.

    I think "Hamsters want me for a Sunbeam". Because it's just too sinister to leave out!

    *grumbles* I outrank him and he gets hymned at...I'l get him to clean up after me and Ba after the Unspeakable Culinary Acts...

    okay, by unanimous decision, CJ will now lead us all in his rendition of that famous hymn, "Onward, Hamster Soldiers"!

    In an act of incredible generosity, CJ passes on the duty of starting the hymn...to Avgi.

    Okay, I put some word together:

    [b:ad3c418d03]Onward Hamster Soldiers[/b:ad3c418d03]
    by Jonathan Malory

    Onward, Hamster soldiers, marching ‘cross the floor,
    With a bag a peanuts rolling on before.
    Hamm, the royal Hamster, leads against the foe;
    Forward into battle see his little paws go!

    [i:ad3c418d03]Refrain[/i:ad3c418d03]

    [i:ad3c418d03]Onward, Hamster soldiers, marching on the floor,
    With the bag of peanuts rolling on before.[/i:ad3c418d03]

    At the sign of Hammy Satan’s host doth flee;
    On then, Hamster soldiers, on to victory!
    Dell’s laptops quiver at the crunch of maize;
    Hamsters lift your whiskers, stomp on through the haze.

    [i:ad3c418d03]Refrain[/i:ad3c418d03]

    Like a mighty army moves the hamster squad;
    Hamsters, we are treading where the mice have trod.
    We are not divided, all one body we,
    One in fur and stomping, one in victory.

    [i:ad3c418d03]Refrain[/i:ad3c418d03]

    What the mice established that I hold for you.
    What the mice believèd, that I believe too.
    Long as we endureth, so the fur will hold,
    Kings, queens, empires, on the treadmill rolled.

    [i:ad3c418d03]Refrain[/i:ad3c418d03]

    Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
    But the code of Hamsters constant will remain.
    Gates of Dell can never gainst our squad prevail;
    We have Hamm’s own promise, and that cannot fail.

    [i:ad3c418d03]Refrain[/i:ad3c418d03]

    Onward then, ye hamsters, join our happy bunch,
    Blend with ours your voices in the triumph crunch.
    Prestige, renown, and honour unto hamsters fling,
    This the hamster sages do proclaim and sing.

    Very nice, Mal. :)

    buzzfloyd says that you've forever ruined 'onward christian soldiers' for her, mal.

    she also says something about that going in the Official Buzzfloyd Self-Righteous Hymnbook...

    and dear god, now she's singing the damn thing.

    You're a genius, Mal. :lol:

    I am SO going to go straight out tomorrow and buy a new hamster !!!

    (the last 2 died 3 years ago, one of them was a transsexual, I swore never again to have a Hamster, but Mal, you have totally swung me there !) :D

    WIll not get that song stuck in my head... will not get song stuck in my head.

    I think I'm going to lose this one.

    I don't know the melody, unfortunately.

    The text alone is great.

    But after reading it I'd be too scared a hamster mgiht become somehow militant to buy one.
