"Spider-Man" franchise director Sam Raimi will helm The Wee Free Men, an adaptation of Terry Pratchett's bestselling young-adult novel, reports Variety. Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired the book and set Pamela Pettler to write the script of “Wee Free Men”.
The movie will be a reworking of Terry Pratchett's bestselling Discworld novel for young-adults that features 9-year-old farm girl who leaves the farm life behind to go out into an adventurous world and recover her brother who has been grabbed by a malicious fairy queen. She battles the monsters of Fairyland with the help of 6-inch-tall blue-faced rowdies who dress in kilts, speak in broad Scottish brogues, pinch sheep and swig a lot.
