Terry Pratchett has been swamped with letters and emails from well-wishers offering encouragement and advice regarding Alzheimer's Disease, as well as various companies wanting to do documentaries about him. Terry said "My office is now effectively at a standstill. In fact, my office is probably moving slightly backwards" after his five storey shelving system for mail collapsed under the weight. One cannot help but make a comical comparison between this and the state of the post office when Moist von Lipwig takes it over in the Discworld novel Going Postal, and wonder at the irony of this being the next film to be made after the success of The Colour of Magic.
It seems Terry has somewhat accidentally become an ambassador of the Alzheimer's Disease cause, "I never intended that I would be some kind of AD spokesman, but the world seems to be deciding otherwise". Documentary companies are asking Terry for interviews on a regular basis but it seems for most they are too late as the BBC have already started making one about him that will be broadcast next year.
