Sean Astin, famous for his role as Samwise, Frodo's best friend in "The Lord of the Rings", has just returned to the States from England, where he took part in the making of an adaptation of Terry Pratchett's "The Colour of Magic" for Sky TV. Other cast members include Tim Curry and Christopher Lee. Astin plays Twoflower, one of two main characters in the story, and says the magical tale should be showing in the States on Fox.
"It's like 'Lord of the Rings' meets 'Harry Potter' meets Monty Python," says Astin. Who plays the Discworld's first tourist. "I show up with the big, flowered shirt and my camera, and when I pull the lever on my camera, there's a one-inch-tall picture imp in there, drawing the pictures real fast."
This movie actually encompasses the first two Discworld novels, which can be bought as a combined book: The Colour of Magic/The Light Fantastic
