I've written a quiz for my sister's birthday on Sunday. I thought you guys might like to have a go at it. The subjects reflect the predilections of my family, so apologies for any strong sway towards religion, literature, music or the classics. Apologies also for any UK bias. I've left out the 'match the Bible verse to the reference' round, although I'll post it if anyone really wants it! (That round is called 'Ten Ten', as every scripture quoted is from chapter 10, verse 10 of the relevant book.) Anyway, here you go. Marks out of 50. No score if you have to look up the answer. Hang on, can we clear something up here Grace... What terrible thing has your sister done to you to deserve such a mind-bendingly hard quizz ? And besides, how is anyone still alive after the year 2000 supposed to answer anything without checking wikipedia first ?

I copied those answers from the original document, but I've just noticed that the fourth answer in the Odd Ones Out round doesn't match the multiple choice options. I will have to investigate further tomorrow.
As Tamyra says. After all, it's a bit of a big step up from dog to cow, otherwise, isn't it? Edited to add: Randywine, these things are all in my brain. I'm not sure that makes me cool, though...
Guys, I had to go look up this old woman with the peculiar eating habits. I must have heard it I'm sure but as I have no small kids in my immediate life I was completely at sea with it. R.
Randy, the album I heard it on was an old vinyl record by Pete Seeger. It's not a new song by any stretch.
Ditto...I think it depends on how long family members can stand the song before you either get stopped singing it or they stop teaching you verses. I know I drove my family completely crazy with 'Michael Finnegan' and 'This is a song that doesn't end'...the latter was my favourite. Five verses before my brother threatened to hang me out of a window by my ankles. And I was an adult then
I harrassed my Mom today about depriving me of the entire song. She had the phone on speaker so my Dad heard the conversation and piped in, "Hey, times were tough back then, cuts had to be made everywhere." I get my smartassness from him BTW.

OK, I think the answer that didn't match was the trick question - not Number 4, but a non-existent Number 5, "None of the above." I just posted this on another board, and a woman there has answered with almost 100% correct!
I remember an old 78 rpm recording sung by Burl Ives. A great favourite on Children's Choice with 'Uncle Mac' on Saturday morning radio. (1950-57)'ish For nostalgia's sake here is a link to that very old record. Video
I don't know, you do get some fucking big dogs. Or, small cows. I got chased by cows once. Not small ones though. Stupid, sinister cows.
You shameless hussy. Not only do you post on another board, you flaunt it in our faces. Then you tell us how much smarter this other board is. Is the other board prettier than us as well? (bearing in mind that kenny and rinso haven't been about lately, so that's got to bump our co-efficient up a bit). Why don't you just marry this other board then, hmm? Since it's oh so fantastic and wonderful!
I also remember the cows! Cows are sinister indeed. And Doors, how could another board not be prettier than this one, huh? The legacy of the Church of Doors is a heavy one. That reminds me, I need to write more 2001 later.
