OK, so who will play the Feegles?
Here's my choices. Please, enyone who wants to, put up your choices! Rob Anybody: Billy Connolly William the Gonnagle: Sir Sean Connery Daft Wullie: Robin Williams Hamish the Aviator: Ewan McGregor Big Yan: Liam Neeson Old Kelda: Dame Judi Dench NOT-AS-BIG-AS-MEDIUM-SIZED-JOCK-BUT-BIGGER-THAN-WEE-JOCK-JOCK: David Tennant All other sundry Feegles: Bruce Campbell Yes, I know that Connolly's nickname is "Big Yin" and should therefore be Big Yan, but after being screwed over for parts in both BRAVEHEART and ROB ROY, he deserves to be the big man of the clan. Besides, who doesn't, when they read the books, hear Billy's voice when they read the bits with Rob (or any of the Feegles, except William the Gonnagle, for that matter)? |

I only know Sam Raimi through Spiderman and although I enjoyed the films I was very disappointed that none of Peter Parker's throwaway humour made it into the film. This is probably due to scripting rather than directing but his humour is a huge part of what Peter Parker/Spiderman is about and I am just a bit concerned that something will be lost in this attempt to film the Tiffany Aching story. But then I guess that films never match the picture that we have in our heads when we read the book.

Gods forbid, but we could get a blue faced Mel Gibson with the phony McHollywood accent...again.

It wasn't Hex doing the digging, a new member called ttl posted something but later deleted it, so I assume Hex was answering whatever it was they said. In fact they also answered Hex but deleted that as well.

Yeah, I had made a couple of ill thought out posts regarding who should appear in a Wee Free Men movie. Being Scottish, I thought that having the same old names dragged out was boring, ie Connolly and Connery.
We have such a great selection of actrors and actresses in Scotland, that I thinkit is a shame that whenever a "Scottish" character or voice is required, Connolly and Connery are automatically thought of. I am really looking forward to a Wee Free Men film, although I think an animation based on Paul Kidby's drawing would be better, they seem to encapsulate the characters better than any human can. |
