1) what formed the motivational impetus for your chosen screenname?
It's my name, backwards. On the old boards, I had my real name. But that felt weird, so now I've switched. 2) Are you male or female? Male. 3) What age category and geographic location do you fall into? Sixteen, and the east coast of the United States. 4) do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (note, this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. i have a loaded rifle and i'm not afraid to use it.) Book to movie adaptations can usually not compare with the actual book. I'd go see it anyway, but probably not like it. 5) who or how were you turned on to discworld/pratchett? Someone my dad worked with lent him Eric, and I read it and liked it. I went on to devour most of the Discworld novels. 6) what's your personal quote of the day? EDIT: I found one. "Wow, that was almost a disaster." |

1) What formed the motivational impetus for your chosen screenname?
At the time I chose it because it felt it described who I was pretty accurately. Now I think it reeks of bad teenage poetry, but I have gotten so used to it that I don't mind. 2) Are you male or female? Male. 3) What age category and geographic location do you fall into? 17, living in the middle of the Netherlands. 4) Do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (Note, this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. I have a loaded rifle and I'm not afraid to use it.) It could be done. Unprobable, but possible. 5) Who or how were you turned on to discworld/Pratchett? A friend of the family got me Jingo for my birthday and I haven't looked back since. 6) What's your personal quote of the day? My expression of the day comes from the Great God and Founding Father Garner, although he insists it was a throw-away line: "Cool beans, this looks like the bunny." Or, the way I personally prefer it: "Gekoelde bonen, dit ziet er uit als het konijn." |

1) what formed the motivational impetus for your chosen screenname?
It's from a couple years ago. It remains a mystery for everyone but me, and it has nothing to do with me liking to run. Because I don't. 2) Are you male or female? (Asking because there has been quite of lot of confusion over this, on and off.) Male. 3) what age catagory and geographic location do you fall into? Young, near D.C. 4) do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (note, this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. i have a loaded rifle and i'm not afraid to use it.) Never. 5) who or how were you turned on to discworld/pratchett? A guy working at Barnes & Noble told me to read Reaper Man. I did. He quit to take care of his new born daughter, and I stopped going there. 6) what's your personal quote of the day? "Eggplant! Falcon! Rise and shine!" ...Of course that's been my quote for more than a week. |

1) What formed the motevational impetus for you chosen screen name?
When I joined the old boards I just used part of my name all one word/lower case, because I didn't trust myself to remember a made up name( I didn't know my computer was going to offer to remember it for me, wasn't that sweet of it?) That got to be too confusing because my mom had to be original and I married into a probably Irish family, so I added the capitals. My first name rhymes with camera and my last name rhymes with cough. 2) Are you male or female? female 3) What age category and geographical location do you fall in? 45, towards the midddle of Minnesota, USA. 4) Do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (Note this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. I have a loaded rifle and am not afraid to use it.) I think one COULD be done, but it would be a miracle if it didn't suck. Some movies based on books have captured the essence of the books without translating every little detail, but some times they just miss all the stuff that made the book good. Discworld books are so filled with details that a movie maker would be hard pressed to include even half of the stuff, and would probably leave out the half I liked best. 5) Who or how were you turned on to Discworld/Pratchett? Back in 1990 or 88,89, I read a library book I enjoyed immensely(Equal Rites). I moved away from that library and while I remembered Granny Weatherwax and the great A'tuin, I did not remember Terry Pratchett. Winter 2004, I bought a new Myth tm paperback by Robert Asprin, with a long author's note about why he hadn't had a new book out in a while and about his favorite authors. They included J.K.Rowling and a fellow named Pratchett who had a bunch of books about Discworld, eventually I realized what Discworld was and went looking for them at my new library, I found Carpe Jugulum in the MYSTERY section! and a couple of other ones. I started requesting them from other libraries and finally this year I decided to buy them all since Harper/Collins had been good enough to reissue them here in the States, that meant I got Good Omens for free and if the Last Hero is reissued I still have credit to help pay for it! Or maybe I'll settle for getting Going Postal. 6) What is your personal quote of the day? "It is very important to housebreak your Elf" from a fan fic story written by my niece ( ' ,') "don't eat green potatoes" (> >) Last words of Mrs. Bertha Sperling @( )_ )_ |

Oh, I suppose I'll have to get round to this
1) what formed the motivational impetus for your chosen screenname? I've been living under a nickname for three quarters of my professional life, so I thought it interesting to be what I was born as for a while 2) Are you male or female? Yes. Oh, you meant which? Short, stumpy, beard- either I'm a dwarf or male. 3) What age category and geographic location do you fall into? Old (counts on fingers. runs out of appendages) 57 feels right. In Geneva, Switzerland 4) do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? I believe it could be- not that I've any faith it would be, of course. And I'd go to see it even if it did (suck, that is) 5) who or how were you turned on to discworld/pratchett? Got there before the mended drum was. Have been impatiently for more information ever since. Would like to retire there (probably Uberwald) 6) what's your personal quote of the day? never procrastinate today what you can put off procrastinating till next year |

1) What formed the motevational impetus for you chosen screen name?
middle name: Roisin, Roisin Dubh means 'dark rosaleen' I think its a song title. The number 211 is my family ID number (1st child of a 1st child of a 2nd child). Seriously. We're very weird people. 2) Are you male or female? female 3) What age category and geographical location do you fall in? 21 soon, NY, Dublin, and soon Strasbourg. Family lives in the states though 4) Do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (Note this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. I have a loaded rifle and am not afraid to use it.) I think its possible, but it would have very divided reviews by fans (H2G2 is like that) Definitely would have to be a british cast, etc. Maybe a pet project by someone stinking rich who'd give Pterry free reign over production....I know, keep dreaming. But it was such a nice dream... 5) Who or how were you turned on to Discworld/Pratchett? I think i might have gotten the first two for a present. can't remember at the moment, which worries me some.. 6) What is your personal quote of the day? My boyfriend saw a bumper sticker which says "Ski Naked" and had this reaction: "I can think of much better things to wear skiing. And much better things to do naked." |

1) what formed the motivational impetus for your chosen screenname?
Highschool nickname based on my surname followed by my favorite number. Not that imaginative 2) Are you male or female? (Asking because there has been quite of lot of confusion over this, on and off.) Male. 3) what age catagory and geographic location do you fall into? I am 29 in Brisbane Australia (glad to see other Aussies roaming the boards )4) Do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (note, this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. i have a loaded rifle and i'm not afraid to use it.) NO. If feel there is just too much in the books to enable it to be captured on the screen. Classic example I feel is Harry Potter movies. Every time I think about watching one of the movies again I realise I would much prefer to read the books as they left so much out of the movies. I don't want this to happen to any TP novel. Besides which one would you start with?? 5) who or how were you turned on to discworld/pratchett? I believe I may have borrowed TLF and CoM from my highschool library and really enjoyed it. I know I owned my first copy a few years later when "Santa Claus" gave me Guards Guards as a christmas present. That santa can sure find some good gifts 6) what's your personal quote of the day? Don't argue with idiots, they will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. |
