Now that Terry is a knight it seems that they are recruiting for his regiment. If anyone on facebook is interested.

We're drumming for volunteers!

The Regiment is being launched with four battalions based on geographical regions. If you want to take the schilling, enter your name and city of residence with the appropriate battalion in the discussions section below. (Note: you may be asked to kiss a picture of Sir Terry at a later date).

In a month or so, when we have a good crop of first recruits, we will send the list of volunteers to Sir Terry and ask him to appoint commanding officers and choose the colour of the Regimental uniform.

For now the group icon is the Monstrous Regiment painting by by Paul Kidby. Will replace with the Regimental Crest when we have one. Anyone with artistic talent is welcome to submit proposed crest designs in the photos section below, and we'll give those to Sir Terry for his choice and approval as well.

In fact, I was in the middle of a translation the other day and was quite pleased with myself for being able to smuggle in the phrase "monstrous regiment". Although I will probably be the only one to notice...

I found out around the time TP got knighted (and good on him) that my boss, "The Prof", was awarded the Order of Australia a few years back which is the Australian equivalent to a knighthood for being responsible for making a good few percent of Australia's mineral export possible.
