Dr Jakob Diederich: born in Bohemia to an aristocratic family, his parents moved up to Berlin when he was just a baby so he grew up very much a Prussian. Jakob was educated in Heidelberg, graduating with a focus in medicine and psychology during the Great War. It was also at this time that he fell in with a group of students who were into the German Mysticism/Occultism revival. After graduation Jakob spent some time traveling in the Orient, secretly on a mission for the Imperial high command, until the war ended and he made a hasty return home with his newly acquired manservant, Kong Ming.

Seeing the state of post war Germany, and Europe in general, he sold his interests at home and moved to England, where he completed his studies at Oxford University and obtained a Doctorate of Medicine with a specialization in Psychiatry. By late 1921, he had moved to Massachusets, settling in the small town of Arkham where he did some post graduate research at the Miskatonic University and the Arkham asylum.

the character will have a strong focus in skills such as medicine, biology, chemistry, and psychology. Additional skills are occultism (germanic and oriental) and linguistics (german, latin, english, probably greek, chinese, and arabic as well).

Dr Diederich is quite young, mid to late twenties, usually very well dressed. More later.

Edit: Roman's determined that Dr D's anual income is 20k, with 100k in property. This will reflect overseas investments, proceeds from the sale of estates in germany, and aquisitions from the far east.
