Default People, new and old, please introduce yourselves - 08-23-2005, 01:57

1) What formed the motevational impetus for you chosen screen name?
When I joined the old boards I just used part of my name all one word/lower case, because I didn't trust myself to remember a made up name( I didn't know my computer was going to offer to remember it for me, wasn't that sweet of it?) That got to be too confusing because my mom had to be original and I married into a probably Irish family, so I added the capitals. My first name rhymes with camera and my last name rhymes with cough.

2) Are you male or female?
female

3) What age category and geographical location do you fall in?
45, towards the midddle of Minnesota, USA.

4) Do you have good faith that a discworld movie COULD be done well enough not to suck? (Note this in no way shape or form asks about casting choices you'd like to see. I have a loaded rifle and am not afraid to use it.)
I think one COULD be done, but it would be a miracle if it didn't suck. Some movies based on books have captured the essence of the books without translating every little detail, but some times they just miss all the stuff that made the book good. Discworld books are so filled with details that a movie maker would be hard pressed to include even half of the stuff, and would probably leave out the half I liked best.

5) Who or how were you turned on to Discworld/Pratchett?
Back in 1990 or 88,89, I read a library book I enjoyed immensely(Equal Rites). I moved away from that library and while I remembered Granny Weatherwax and the great A'tuin, I did not remember Terry Pratchett. Winter 2004, I bought a new Myth tm paperback by Robert Asprin, with a long author's note about why he hadn't had a new book out in a while and about his favorite authors. They included J.K.Rowling and a fellow named Pratchett who had a bunch of books about Discworld, eventually I realized what Discworld was and went looking for them at my new library, I found Carpe Jugulum in the MYSTERY section! and a couple of other ones. I started requesting them from other libraries and finally this year I decided to buy them all since Harper/Collins had been good enough to reissue them here in the States, that meant I got Good Omens for free and if the Last Hero is reissued I still have credit to help pay for it! Or maybe I'll settle for getting Going Postal.

6) What is your personal quote of the day?
"It is very important to housebreak your Elf" from a fan fic story written by my niece
